Backyard Growers Annual Report Design and Illustrations
About the Work
Backyard Growers is a non-profit organization in Gloucester, MA that pursues healthy lifestyle by establishing community gardens in homes, housing facilities, and schools. The group educates adults and children how to grow their own food and how important it is to eat healthy. The gardens allow more people to come out, participate and stay connected with neighbors, friends, and community. To present their achievements and stories, I put together a clean annual report with beautiful photos and fun print illustrations.
To mimic the woodcut style of Backyard Growers' logo, I made garden illustrations using a simple printmaking method of carving out of rubber relief. These illustrations are digitally transferred and are used throughout the report as supporting elements.
